Census Coverage Survey Interviewers

From 4 January 2011, we will be recruiting census coverage survey (CCS) interviewers on fixed-term contracts (9 May 2011 – 3 June 2011). CCS interviewers will be responsible for carrying out short doorstep interviews with householders. They will work with another interviewer to locate all the households in their designated area and conduct a doorstep interview with a resident of each household. Working hours are on a part-time pattern, consisting of 25 hours per week, depending on the size of the workload area. CCS interviewers will be the main point of contact with the public, so they will need to win the confidence and co-operation of the public. Their attitude and professionalism is critical to the success of the CCS. To help them to carry out this work to the highest standard they will receive detailed instructions, e-learning and full training from their team manager.
