Special Enumerators

From 4 October 2010, we will be recruiting special enumerators on fixed-term contracts (7 March 2011 – 16 April 2011). They will be responsible for delivering census questionnaires to communal establishments (such as care homes, hotels and student halls of residence) and special population groups (such as Gypsies and travellers), and for collecting questionnaires once completed. The role will require working varied hours including up to 8pm (Monday to Saturday) and between 10am and 4pm (Sunday) as necessary. Special enumerators will report to a census coordinator. The post involves working outdoors and visiting a number of residential premises within a set area. Special enumerators will have a bag containing questionnaires and other supplies which they will have to keep with them while working. Completed questionnaires will need to be stored securely at their home until passed to their census coordinator.
